Winslow Homer was one of the most important 19th century American landscape painters, whose works vividly portrayed the natural scenery and life of the American people.
Winslow Homer Biography
- Born February 24, 1836 in Boston
- He began to study painting in earnest around 1857.
- He began his career as a printmaker in 1859.
- From 1861, he walked the battlefields of the Civil War and became active as a war painter.
- In the 1870s, he produced many masterpieces with seaside scenes as the theme.
- Died September 29, 1910, at age 74, in Plotts Neck.

- High Tide at Herrog Beach (1898)
