Egypt and Nubia is a collection of illustrations of the Nile River by David Roberts (1796-1864). This collection gracefully captures life in Egypt and its ancient civilizations. Roberts was a well-known Oriental painter, and as he traveled through this fascinating country, he illustrated not only the beautiful landscapes of Egypt and its landmark architecture, but also the daily life of its people.
David Roberts Biography
- Born October 24, 1796 in Edinburgh, Scotland
- Started his career as a stage artist
- Explorations in Egypt and Nubia , 1838–1839
- Based on his experiences from that trip, he produced many works, including "Egypt and Nubia."
- Died in London on November 25, 1864 (aged 68)

Roberts' style and achievements
