- Born May 14, 1860 in Uppsala, Sweden
- Studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm from 1879 to 1882
- Studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1882 to 1883
- From the late 1880s onwards, he produced works depicting Swedish nature and animals.
- He was one of Sweden's leading wildlife painters from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.
- Died in Stockholm on December 18, 1939 (aged 79)
