Mikuláš Galanda
Mikuláš Galánda (1895-1938) was a Slovak painter and illustrator, regarded as one of the pioneers of modern Slovak art. His work reflects the interplay of abstract forms and the human figure, skillfully fusing modernist currents such as Expressionism and Surrealism .

- Born on May 4, 1895 in Turčanske Teplice, Austro-Hungarian Empire (now Slovakia)
- Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest from 1914 to 1918
- In 1922, he moved to Prague and joined the avant-garde art movement.
- In the late 1920s, he returned to Slovakia and worked as a painter, illustrator and designer.
- Died in Bratislava on June 5, 1938 (aged 43)

Galanda's style and achievements
