- Born on June 13, 1885 in Lieto, Turku-Pori County, southwestern Finland .
- He studied at the Turku Drawing School in the early 1900s .
- In the late 1900s, he studied in Paris and was strongly influenced by the Impressionists.
- In the 1910s, he returned to Finland and began working as a painter.
- He died in Helsinki on July 27, 1929 (aged 44).
