Hugo Steiner-Prague (1880-1945) was a German artist of Czech origin known for his distinctive style in graphic art, book illustrations and stage design.

• Born December 12, 1880 in Prague, Austro-Hungarian Empire (now the Czech Republic)
• Studied at the Prague School of Arts and Crafts in the early 1900s
• In 1906 he taught at the Leipzig School of Book Crafts and Graphic Arts.
• In the 1920s, he produced expressionist works.
• In 1933, he was fired from his teaching job by the Nazi regime and returned to Prague.
• In 1939, he fled to the United States to escape Nazi persecution.
• Died in New York on February 17, 1945 (aged 64)
