(0 products)Luigi Balgani (1737-1770) was an artist from Bologna, Italy. He began drawing at an early age and showed a talent for decorative design. With a strong interest in architecture, he studied under Giuseppe Tivoli , a Bolognese painter and professor of architecture at the Accademia Clementina. After leaving Rome in 1765, Balgani sailed to Africa, where he recorded the many plants and fish he encountered with his superb drawings.
