PC Skovgaard

Peasant Skogård (1817-1875) was one of the most important painters of the Danish Golden Age and is known for his landscapes and botanical sketches. He preferred to paint everyday scenes rather than fantastical landscapes and created beautiful depictions of the Danish countryside.

PC Skogow Biography

Born on April 4, 1817 in Zealand, Denmark. Showed an interest in painting from an early age. Entered the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1831. Graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1843. From the late 1840s, traveled to Italy, Greece, and other countries, and produced landscape paintings. Died in Copenhagen on April 13, 1875 (aged 57).
