Wladyslaw Theodor Benda was a Polish-born American painter, illustrator, and designer active from the late 19th century to the early 20th century . He is particularly known for his costume and mask designs, and his unique works had a major impact on the world of theater.

Wladyslaw Theodor Benda Biography

Born January 15, 1873 in Poznan, Poland. Moved to the United States in 1899. Worked as a magazine illustrator in the early 1900s. In the 1910s, began designing stage costumes and masks. In the 1920s, also worked on costume design for movies in Hollywood. Died November 19, 1948 in Newark, New Jersey, USA (aged 75).

Benda's style and achievements
