  • In 1857, he went to London to study business, but developed an interest in art.
  • In 1862, he returned to Paris and studied in the studio of Charles Gleyre.
  • In the late 1860s, he met Monet and Renoir and participated in the Impressionist movement .
  • In the 1870s, he painted many landscapes in the suburbs of Paris.
  • In the 1890s, he moved to Moret-sur-Loing in his later years and continued to create works.
  • Died on January 29, 1899 at Moret-sur-Loing (aged 59)

Sisley's style and achievements

Sisley's style is characterized by delicate brushstrokes, color harmony, and skillful expression of the effects of light.
