Vilhelm Marstrand is one of Denmark's leading painters and illustrators of the 19th century. Wilhelm Marstrand Biography
- Born December 24, 1810 in Copenhagen, Denmark
- In 1826, he entered the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

- In the 1840s he returned to Denmark and produced historical and genre paintings.
- From the 1850s onwards, he also worked as a portrait painter.
- Died March 25, 1873, Copenhagen, Denmark (aged 62)
