Giorgione, or Giorgio da Castelfranco (born about 1477-78), was an Italian painter and one of the pioneers of the High Renaissance style in the Venetian school , and is included in Vasari's Lives.

He began his career as a painter in Venice around 1500.
Study in the workshop of Giovanni Bellini
In his short career, he produced innovative paintings that combined landscapes and figures.
