• Born September 28, 1816 in Allerm, Sweden.
• In 1840, he moved to Finland and participated in the production of the "Finnish Landscape Illustrations."
• In the late 1840s, he helped found the Finnish Art Society.
• In 1853 he became a founding member of the Finnish Arts Society.
• He paints many Finnish landscapes, especially lakes, forests and rural landscapes.
• He died in Helsinki on September 13, 1899 (aged 82).
