Emile Pris-Davenne Biography
- Born in Avène , France in 1807 .
- After a military career, he turned to Egyptology.
- During the 1830s and 1840s, he investigated and recorded numerous ruins and artifacts in Egypt.
- In the late 1840s, he returned to France and published monographs and illustrations on Egyptian art.
- He died in 1879 (aged 72).
