Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt was an Austrian painter who was active in Vienna from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. Born on July 14, 1862 in Baumgarten, near Vienna, Austria.
In 1876, he entered the Vienna School of Applied Arts and Crafts to study architectural decoration.
In 1883, together with his brother Ernst, he founded the Artists' Company, which produced murals and other works.
In 1897, he founded the Vienna Secession and became its first president.
