Commentary on representative works
In his masterpiece, "The Kiss," the embracing couple is depicted blending into an abstract background based on gold leaf. It can be said to be Klimt's masterpiece, expressing the ecstasy and mystery of love. "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I" was painted with a wealthy Viennese woman as the model, and the gold leaf, jewel-like colors, and intricately decorated clothing accentuate the model's beauty and nobility.

As a leader of the Vienna Secession, he advocated breaking away from traditional art and pursuing new artistic expression.
