"Samarkand" is a design illustration book published in 1914 by French artist Emile-Alain Séguy . It contains a wealth of beautiful vintage patterns in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles, and Séguy's original designs and vivid colors breathed fresh air into the decorative arts world of the time and continue to inspire contemporary designers.

EA Seggy Biography

Born in Paris, France in 1877 .
He works as an entomologist, decorative artist, and illustrator.
He specializes in designs with insect and plant motifs.
One of the leading figures of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles.
He died in Paris in 1951 (aged 74).
