Wilson Bentley was an American photographer and scientist active from the late 19th century to the early 20th century . He was fascinated by the beauty of snowflakes and devoted his life to photographing and studying them. His photographs of delicate and complex snowflakes, taken using microscopic photography techniques , are highly regarded not only for their scientific value but also as works of art.
Wilson Bentley Biography
Born on February 9, 1865 in Jericho, Vermont, USA At the age of 15, he received a microscope from his mother and began observing snow crystals In 1885, using a photography technique he developed himself, he became the first person in the world to successfully take a microscopic photograph of a snow crystal After that, he took over 5,000 photographs of snow crystals over his lifetime Died of pneumonia on December 23, 1931 (aged 66)
