In particular, he revolutionized woodblock and copperplate engraving techniques, achieving unprecedented levels of detail and rich light and dark effects. He also studied perspective and human proportions, leaving behind works such as "On Proportions ." Dürer also worked hard to raise the social status of artists, and his many self-portraits are a testament to his strong pride in his art. Works such as " Melencolia I " are imbued with deep spirituality and allegory, and their interpretation continues to be a topic of much debate today.
