John Singer Sargent
John Singer Sargent was an American painter active from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. - In 1874, he moved to Paris and studied in the studio of Carolus-Duran.
- In the late 1870s, he exhibited at the Salon de Paris and attracted attention.
- In the 1880s, he moved to London and became a successful portrait painter.
- In the 1890s, he returned to America and produced portraits and murals.
- Since the 1900s, he has also been actively involved in watercolor painting.
