Davison Art Center of Wesleyan University

The Davison Art Center is the art museum at Wesleyan University and is home to a wide-ranging collection of fine art with an emphasis on graphic arts and photography. Its collection boasts more than 25,000 pieces, including exceptional works by Rembrandt van Rijn and Francisco de Goya, rare early prints, and important contemporary works by Carla Walker and Jasper Johns. It is known as one of the finest print collections at an American university.

Davison Art Center History

• 1952: Founded as a facility to house and exhibit the art collection of Wesleyan University
• 1960s: The collection is greatly expanded with a donation from George W. Davison.
• Current status: Contributing to the university's educational and research activities and open to the public
