Édouard Vuillard ( 1868-1940) was a French painter and printmaker, and a member of the avant-garde Nabis group. He is known for his intimate interior scenes, portraits, and decorative patterns. • Born November 11, 1868 in Cuiseaux, France
• In the late 1880s, he went to Paris to study at the Academie Julian.
• In 1891, he participated in the founding of the Nabis movement.
• In the 1890s, he also designed posters and decorative panels.
• Since the 1900s, he has produced many interior landscapes and portraits.
• Died in La Baule on June 21, 1940 (aged 71)
