The notebook section has no lines, so it's also recommended as a gift for art lovers who want to draw a little or carry a sketchbook with them!
It is printed on both sides so it can be opened either left or right.

Representative works

Edgar Degas' painting style

Edgar Degas's painting style stands out even among Impressionist painters . He preferred working in his studio rather than outdoors, and he placed more importance on form and line drawing than on vivid colors. Influenced by Japanese art and photography , his works are characterized by bold compositions and depictions that seem to capture a moment in time. In particular, his paintings of ballet dancers capture their fleeting movements, expressions, and backstage action with a keen eye. Another distinctive element of Degas's style is his frequent use of pastels in addition to oil paints.

Commentary on representative works

"The Dance Class" is one of Degas's masterpieces, depicting a ballet lesson. Rather than focusing on the dancer in the center of the picture, the focus is on the surrounding figures, such as those seated on the floor and those resting at the edge of the picture. This asymmetrical, unbalanced composition demonstrates Degas' originality. "Etoile" depicts a prima ballerina receiving applause on stage. The depiction of this brilliance, capturing a moment of brilliance, is a testament to Degas's keen observational skills and outstanding descriptive ability.

Edgar Degas' influence and later recognition

Edgar Degas' unique painting style had a profound influence on artists of later generations. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Pablo Picasso are said to have been particularly influenced by Degas. Degas's work also contributed greatly to the development of paintings depicting modern urban life. Keywords such as impressionism , realism , Japanese art , photography , ballet , and pastel are important elements in understanding Degas's art. Today, Degas's works are housed in museums around the world, and his artistic merit continues to be highly acclaimed.
