Jules Pascin

Jules Pascin (1885-1930) was a Bulgarian-born American painter who painted nude and semi-nude women, street scenes, and tropical landscapes. Born to a wealthy family, Pascin was educated in Austria and Germany before moving to Paris in 1905, where he became involved with the Modernist movement. He was deeply concerned with the human condition and is known for his portraits of nude and semi-nude women. He also embodied the Romantic and Bohemian artistic tradition. He moved to New York in 1914, where he combined elements of Expressionism and Cubism, adding his own unique touch.
