Leslie Adkin

• Born January 25, 1888 in Wellington, New Zealand
• Self-taught in painting in the early 1900s
• In the 1910s, he moved to Taranaki and continued to paint while running a farm.
• In the 1920s, he also began taking photographs.
• Since the 1930s, he has documented New Zealand's nature and culture through painting, photography and writing.
• Died May 22, 1964, New Plymouth, New Zealand (aged 76)
