Pieter Bruegel

Pieter Bruegel is a representative painter of 16th-century Flanders (an area including present-day Belgium, southern Holland, and parts of northern France). • He is said to have been born around 1525/30 in what is now the Netherlands, or near the Belgian city of Breda (there are various theories about his place of birth and year).
