Sina (Sientje) van Houten
Sina van Houten (1834-1909) was a rare Dutch woman painter . As the wife of the famous Dutch marine painter Hendrik Willem Mesdag, she provided him with emotional support. However, after the unfortunate loss of their only child, she took up painting.

Van Houten's style and achievements
