Hilma af Klint

Hilma af Klint Biography

Born October 26, 1862 at Karlberg Castle near Stockholm, Sweden
From 1882 to 1887, he studied traditional painting at the Royal Swedish Academy, mainly portrait and landscape painting.
In 1896, she formed a group of female artists called "The Five," who studied psychic phenomena, theosophy, and practiced automatic writing.
Around 1906, he began producing abstract paintings based on revelations from spiritual beings.
Between 1906 and 1915, he produced his signature series of "Paintings for the Temple."
Since the 1920s, he has been influenced by the ideas of Rudolf Steiner, the founder of the Anthroposophical movement.
Even in his later years, he continued to create works that explored the spiritual world, primarily through watercolors.
Died 21 October 1944 in Djursholm, Sweden (aged 81)
Her will specified that the work be kept secret for a long time, and that it be exhibited more than 20 years after her death.
