Artist
Aert Schouman (1710-1792) was a Dutch painter known for his beautiful paintings of birds, as well as still lifes, portraits and history paintings. He was a man of many talents, who was also a talented glass engraver, wallpaper painter, printmaker, collector and art dealer.
Aart Schaumann Biography
- Born on March 4, 1710 in Dordrecht, Netherlands.
- He worked as a painter, glass sculptor, wallpaper artist, printmaker, collector and art dealer.
- Between 1735 and 1785 he was one of the leading artists in the province of Zeeland.
- He died in The Hague on July 5, 1792 (aged 82).

Sukhoman's style and achievements
Sukhoman's work is characterized by realistic, detailed depictions and a delicate sense of color. He vividly portrays animals, especially birds, accurately capturing their characteristics and ecology . In still lifes and portraits, he also skillfully depicts the texture of the subject and the effects of light, creating a deep sense of depth and a tranquil atmosphere.
Suchoman was not only a painter, but also a glass sculptor, wallpaper artist and printmaker, and demonstrated his wide-ranging talents. He had a huge influence on the 18th century Dutch art scene, and his works are still held in many museums and private collections today.
