Berthe Morisot (1841-1895) was a French impressionist painter and is known for being the first woman to join the Impressionist group. She excelled in landscapes and still lifes, depicting everyday scenes and women with delicate touches and vivid colors .

Born on January 14, 1841 in Bourges, France.
He grew up in a wealthy family and learned painting from an early age.
In the 1860s, he studied landscape painting under Camille Corot .
In 1874, he participated in the first Impressionist exhibition.
In 1874, she married Eugène Manet , the younger brother of Édouard Manet .
Her husband Eugène died in 1892 .
He died in Paris on March 2, 1895 (aged 54).

Morisot's style and achievements

Morisot's work is characterized by her delicate touch, bright colors, and intimate scenes depicted from a female perspective. She captured ordinary moments of daily life and the figures of women and children with soft light and colors, and expressed them with the vivid brushwork typical of impressionism.

Morisot made her presence known as the only female painter in the Impressionist group . She brought a sensibility and perspective unique to women to the male-dominated art world, and contributed to the development of Impressionism.

Morisot was not necessarily highly acclaimed during her lifetime, but after her death her work was reevaluated and she came to be recognized as one of the most representative painters of the Impressionist movement.
