Medicinal Botany is a book on medicinal plants published in 1831. Created by Dr John Stevenson (1790-1864) and James Morse Churchill (1796-1863), it contains beautiful vintage botanical illustrations of a variety of medicinal herbs, including belladonna , valerian and turmeric . This work played a key role in bringing new knowledge to the Western world and deepening our understanding of the medicinal properties of plants.

John Stephenson & James Morse Churchill Biography

John Stevenson

  • Born in Edinburgh , England in 1790 .
  • He worked as a doctor and botanist.
  • He was passionate about researching medicinal plants and compiled his knowledge in the book "Medical Botany."
  • He died in 1864 (aged 74).

James Morse Churchill

  • Born in England in 1796 .
  • He works as a publisher and editor.
  • In collaboration with Dr. Stevenson, he published "Medical Botany."
  • He died in 1863 (aged 67).
