Winslow Homer Biography

Born February 24, 1836 in Boston
He began to study painting in earnest around 1857.
He began his career as a printmaker in 1859.
From 1861, he walked the battlefields of the Civil War and became active as a war painter.
In the 1870s, he produced many masterpieces with seaside scenes as the theme.
Died September 29, 1910, at age 74, in Plotts Neck.
