Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was a painter and printmaker who dominated France's Belle Époque period in the second half of the 19th century. Based in Montmartre, Paris, he established his reputation by depicting the decadent world of pleasure and entertainment at the time, including cabarets and the dancers, singers, and prostitutes that gathered there, with a keen eye for observation and a unique sense of color. - Born November 24, 1864, in Albi, France, to a count's family.

- Around 1884, he set up a studio in Montmartre and began painting people in the entertainment district.
