Albert Bierstadt
Albert Bierstadt was a 19th century German-American painter known for his spectacular landscapes of the American West. His work is characterized by detailed depictions and light effects, and he portrayed the western wilderness with a romantic beauty.

- Born January 7, 1830 in Solingen, Germany
- In 1833 , he emigrated with his family to New Bedford, Massachusetts, USA.
- In 1853 , he returned to Germany to study painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf.
- In 1857 , he returned to America and began his expedition to the West.
- In 1863 , he produced "Lander's Peak, Rocky Mountains," which was highly praised.
- Died in New York on February 18, 1902 (aged 72)
