Julie de Graag
Julie de Graag was a Dutch painter, printmaker, and illustrator active in the early 20th century. She is known primarily for her woodblock prints, and left behind many works featuring botanical and landscape motifs. Her works, which poetically depict the beauty of nature with delicate lines and color, are still beloved by many people today.
Julie de Graag Biography
- Born July 18, 1877 in Holkum, Holland.
- As a child, he learned painting from his mother, who was an amateur painter.
- He later went on to study woodblock printing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague.
- He began working as a woodblock artist and illustrator in the early 1900s.
- He died in The Hague on February 2, 1924 (aged 46).

Flaach's woodblock prints are characterized by their simple lines and delicate use of color. Using plants, flowers, landscapes and other motifs, the beauty of nature is expressed in a poetic way. It is said to have been influenced by Japanese ukiyo-e, and there are also oriental elements to it.
She produced many works during her lifetime, most of which were woodblock prints. He was active in a wide range of fields, including illustrating picture books and magazines. However, he took his own life at the young age of 46. In recent years, his work has been reevaluated, and his delicate and beautiful works are once again attracting attention.
